How might we reduce the time it takes for landlords and building owners to inspect their properties?

Honeycomb Insurance's mission is to offer real esate coverage quicker than the competition. Instead of waiting days or weeks for a property inspection, customers can complete inspections on their own. I was tasked with designing a property inspection app to make this a reality.

Design Goals

Intuitive – The app should be easy to use and understand. While this product offers customers insurance faster, it is also more work for them. The experience needs to be as friction-less as possible 

Consistent – Customers buy insurance on the website, not from the app. The app should maintain a consistent interface and style to the experience that customers get on the website.

Flexible – Insurance products vary depending on property type and region. The app should allow for different different property types and inspection requirements based on individual customers.

Onboarding

The onboarding screens are designed to communicate a few important requirements for the property inspection. When the app first launched, many customers did not understand that the inspections had to be done on site in real time and that there was a deadline for inspections to be submitted. After the onboarding screens were added, failed inspctions dropped dramatically.
